XLB
This graphic for the restaurant XLB was a challenge I gave myself in terms of composition and purpose. I wanted to combine my illustration skills with something more tangible for a business. The process of having full creative control really allowed me to run with my initial idea of a Chinese restaurant poster.
left: digital piece
Above is the initial sketch I had done. Through time and practice I have learned that starting on paper with a pen allows a more natural beginning to a piece. I felt that contrasting results from two highlight my abilities to hone and execute an idea/vision
Print Job
The end goal of this piece was to screen print graphic. After negotiating with the head of the restaurant, we worked out deal to have my printed apparel be sold on site and some for the employees. Looking forward, we are continuing to find uses for this piece, posters, postcards etc. Combining my illustration skills with knowledge in screen printing has made for a very rewarding project.
